Introduction[edit]

KDE is a community driven platform who develops free and open-source software. Main focus are Linux distributions. A Well-known product is the Plasma Desktop. In addition there are a range of cross-platform applications like Krita or digiKam designed to run mostly on Unix and Unix-like desktops.

Being one of KDE's most recognized projects, the Plasma Desktop is the default desktop environment on many Linux distributions, such as openSUSE, Manjaro, Kubuntu, KaOS, PCLinuxOS and KDE neon.
